The final parts of this site are still under construction, please be patient
This was our first shed back in 2018. We only closed in 2019 to move to Callanish to serve our excellent fish and chips but really missed the interraction with our wonderful customers.
In 2021 we made the decision to return to working from our home and built the all new Rainbow Shed. I am sure you will agree that it is somewhat more colourful.
The date is approaching fast and we’re making preparations. Don’t miss out!
When we are at home (which is most of the time that we are open) we are happy to prepare for you a selection of hot and cold filled rolls, Hand made burgers in fresh baked rolls, home made pies etc. If we are not there then there will be food in the fridge that can be reheated in the microwave provided. We also provide hot takeaways on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Check out the Takeaways page for more information.
When making food for our takeaway meals we also put aside a set number to be frozen on the day which will be available to purchase from the shed.
Usually there will be a selection which may include curries, Mince, neep and tatties, Lasagnes etc. Much of our food is gluten free and we try to have something available for everyone.
Our Ice creams and desserts are the talk of the island.
We only use fresh natural ingredients as flavourings in our seasonal ice creams This includes mint picked in the village, elderflower and meadowsweet collected locally on a dry morning, Scottish strawberries when in season.
Often in the winter months we make alcohol based varieties as well.
Our puds are just awesome. Peat Bog Pudding- exclusive to us here at Mollans - ask us about it when you visit.
During the winter months we sit by the fire knitting - a bit cliche but true all the same. Scarves, hats and hot water bottle covers (Yes, it gets chilly) are our best sellers. There is also a range of children's cardigans too.
Mollans hens are spoiled. They love their fresh fruit and veg and can often be seen jumping up at a hanging pineapple. This means we get plenty of eggs, some we use ourselves, or for baking your tasty treats and the remainder are put in the shed every day for you to purchase.
We usually have biscuits to buy too, the coconut crunch and Mollanaire's Shortbread are our biggest sellers.
There are also some souvenir bits and pieces for sale which we have bought in. Everything else in the shed has been hand made by us but we wanted there to be a small area for people to buy well priced gifts.
We often bake bread once a day so if you would like to order ahead of time then just give us a call or drop us a message to reserve yours.
On a Thursday, Friday and Saturday night we serve hot take away food. It can also be pre-ordered in a way you can reheat it at home either that day or the following. We also offer frozen versions too. Go to the Takeaway page to find out more.
