This is currently the most expensive of all of the cakes that have been made here in Mollans' kitchen.

Made with butter, fresh clementines and ground almonds along with beautifully fresh eggs this rich and luxurious cake is sure to delight.  This cake is exceptionally moist and a very rich sweet cake which will delight and tease even the most discerning of tastebuds.

Lemon Drizzle Cake

Zingy & Zesty

 This Lemon Drizzle Loaf has always been a firm favourite with our customers.  Made using at least 2 lemons in each loaf and then infused with a home made lemon syrup before being iced and topped with home made candied citrus peel.

This is certainly a crowd pleaser and is ideal for afternoon tea

Poached Pear Sticky Cake

The Cake that dreams are made of


This recipe was developed after we had a glut of pears.  Not wishing to waste Mother Nature's bounty we came up with this delightful "experiment".

Starting off by slowly poaching the pears in a home made syrup then adding to a tasty butter based cake.  The Pear cake is then "drowned" in its own pear syrup.

This cake freezes well and can also be bought from Mollans' shed in frozen form so that you can defrost at home for ultimate taste.  (Why not keep one in the freezer for when you suddenly realise you have guests coming the following day and don't want to run into town).

Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Heaven on a plate

 Dripping with chocolate butter-cream icing and decorated with giant chocolate buttons, who wouldn't dream of devouring a slice (or 2) of this cake?

With a buttercream filling as standard, this can be substituted with jam or even cream on request.  A variety of sizes and even matching cupcakes available!

Carrot and Walnut Cake (Gluten Free)

Rather "Addictive"

 Gluten Free does not have to mean a lesser quality cake - this delicious Carrot and Walnut Cake proves this point better than anything else we can think of.

A moist cake with a lot of walnuts (and carrots of course), topped with a cream cheese icing and walnuts to decorate.

This cake can be supplied without the topping for the freezer meaning that you just need to add a topping of your choice prior to serving.  Please ask us for details.

Shawbost Red Clover Cake

From the land to your plate *seasonal*


Do you fancy something very different?  This is our take on a traditional cake with a twist.

Throughout the cake you will find red clover hand picked for you when in season.  We have a few of these scrummy cakes made and frozen ready for us to defrost and decorate but once they are gone they are gone.... until the next season of red clover graces us with its presence.  

We have made some red clover syrup so will be able to still make this cake with the same flavours but it won't have the little pink petals within the sponge.

Bakewell Tart (Also available GF - Please ask)

Sweet and Crispy

Home made pastry using butter and eggs in the recipe ensures a lovely crisp outer to this delectable Bakewell tart.

On top of the pastry base is a lovely layer of rasperry jam and then a generous almond topping and finished off with a thick layer of white icing.

The only downside to all of this delicious pastry is having to resist going back from yet another slice.
